As an SI, I provided regularly scheduled, out-of-class sessions in a beginning accounting class and realized that I had the ability to help others learn. I realized that all students can learn, but that some are not getting the individual attention that they require in the typical classroom setting. A Little Bit About Me...

I love children and I am a patient and caring teacher. My mother is an educational diagnostician and an expert on learning disabilities and different learning styles. As a result I believe I have special insight into the way children learn and I can adapt my teaching style to fit the individual needs of each child I tutor.
In high school I took AP calculus classes, earning college credit and fulfilling the math requirement for my undergraduate degree. Having been a lacrosse coach for the past five years will really help me assist every person I tutor in reaching his/her goals. Every child is different, and I have found that finding out how a child learns is just as important, if not more important, than the subject material itself. I am a big believer in setting goals and having a concrete plan as to how we are going to reach those goals. I consider myself a patient person, but I can also see when it may be necessary to push a student who I know can do better for themselves. A Little Bit About Me...

I began my interest in accounting in HS and continued on with a BS with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science. I obtained my CPA and work in an industry teaching accounting proceedures and software. I also have a child with a learning disability that I work with on a daily basis. I have volunteered in my children's schools on a regular basis. In that, I have worked with children regarding how to read a problem and understand what it is asking them to do and other basic reading comprehention issues.
I enjoy accounting and teaching it to others who may not enjoy it as much as I do.
