A Little Bit About Me...

My objective in attaining a Ph.D, was to create the opportunity for myself to teach Biology related courses at any level. My graduate school experience was a fantastic springboard for gaining experience in teaching an array of biology courses. As tutor for an academic excellence program, I worked with students, in small group settings. We explored complex material at depth, and inspired ownership of the learning process. After Graduating from CU, I earned a position as an Assistant Professor at MSCD, before choosing to move to the mountains a find my spirit fulfilled. I love to be hands-on in my tutoring. I feel that problem solving is the key to understanding a topic. I bring a lot of energy to the classroom and ensure that I am over-prepared for each lesson. I enjoy involving every student in a classroom setting and encourage an active, open learning environment. I also believe it is a very valuable experience to be able to work with students one-on-one. I like to work with each student to figure out his or her individual learning style and needs.
