It states that "All beauty is a making one of opposites, and a making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves" Thus, I relate the subject matter in hand to students' personal lives. For example, if we are learning Le Chartelier's Princlple, which concerns the response of a chemical reaction to stress, I have my students discuss the types of stress they experience, and their responses. I hated science and math when I was in junior high and high school. When I asked my teachers questions, they didn't give me the answers I was looking for. Luckily, I got into a great university and found out, after taking a few core classes, that I actually love science. Once I really understood some of the key concepts, I found it to be fun and interesting.
