Before earning a BA in Biology at Skidmore College and after graduating high school, I took three years off to play hockey. Concurrently, I enrolled in classes at Mount Wachusett Community College in Massachusetts and tutored in the math department. I tutored students in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and some calculus. At Skidmore I continued in math, taking calculus I, II, and III, and linear algebra before focusing my attention on molecular biology. I habitually studied with my classmates and I found great satisfaction helping others understand complex subject matter. The challenge to explain concepts in alternative ways in order to cater to different learning styles was enriching to my own understanding. A Little Bit About Me...

I attended SUNY Oneonta to attain a B.S. in Elementary Education. I had a concentration in General Science, so I have a broad knowledge-base of the subject. I am currently attending school to receive my Master's degree in Teaching Elementary Mathematics. While attending school, I peer tutored other students in Nutrition, Math, and History for 3 years. I have a personal interest and skill in reading and writing, so I am very comfortable assisting students with strategies in those areas. As a graduate of the State University of NY at Albany, I am very interested in helping others learn. I hold 2 degrees, BA in English and MS in Education/English s a Second Language. I taught school for 4 years and after many years of working in administration, I would like to tutor students in English and mathematics.
