15 years of teaching HS biology, chemistry and applied physics I and II. 6 years of one on one HS math, science and SAT math prep tutoring. I coached and supervised our schools Science Olympiad team for 10 years and was an official at the state's competition. I worked on developing District and State of Delaware standards for HS science.

As a senior student at Misericordia University, I was and still am driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my classes. I will receive my Master's in Physical Therapy in May of 2011. In my experiences, I have found the best way to fascilitate the learning of mathematics is through visual instruction via a whiteboard and/or blackboard. After the student sees an example of a problem done, I like to sit down with the tutee and have them walk me through the problems to make sure they have a good understanding of both the way to do the problem as well as a stron conceptual understanding of the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

I try to tailor my style to the student. Each student I had tutored when I was in college I had basically spoke with them, got to learn what they strong points were, their weaknesses, and areas that needed more base learning. I tailored lesson plans to help fill in their educational gaps, created small weekly assignments, and also helped with their current homework/lesson plan. I believe everyone learns in different ways. Some are more visual, others are more auditory so I tried to not only explain but also show by using whatever tools necessary/applicable (graphs, pictures, charts, etc.)
