A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching all types of Mathematics for 30 years from Elementary up to college. Presently, I am a full time high school math teacher teaching Algebra I and II and AP Calculus. This includes teaching students who are going to take ASVAB and SAT exams. I have been chose teacher of the year several years. For a long period of time, I have a very close to 100 percent passing Standard of Learning math Test including Ap Calculus College Exam. Aside from being a teacher, I also serve as Department Chairperson of the Math Department.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. My teaching experience is mostly in private school settings and I taught public school for a year. I am currently waiting to be certified in Spanish in Virginia and will be taking the courses necessary to become a certified teacher in the near future. For the bulk of my academic and professional career I have mentored or supervised colleagues or post-doctoral fellows in the natural sciences. While I have obtained academic training in Chemistry and Biology (BS), Biochemistry (MS and Ph.D) and neuroscience (post-doctoral research) I have studied and utilized many additional areas of science including, immunology, molecular biology, organic chemistry, toxicology, epidemiology. I have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the College of William and Mary and will be returning to finish my Masters Degree at Georgetown University in January of 2011. I graduated with a 3.2 GPA from William and Mary and currently have a 3.7 GPA at Georgetown. During my time at William and Mary I worked as a tutor for Calculus, Biology and Chemistry.
