A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching all types of Mathematics for 30 years from Elementary up to college. Presently, I am a full time high school math teacher teaching Algebra I and II and AP Calculus. This includes teaching students who are going to take ASVAB and SAT exams. I have been chose teacher of the year several years. For a long period of time, I have a very close to 100 percent passing Standard of Learning math Test including Ap Calculus College Exam. Aside from being a teacher, I also serve as Department Chairperson of the Math Department.

Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. A Little Bit About Me...

My most recent rewarding interaction with kids has been been the result of functioning as a mentor for the LC Bird High School robotics team. I've have been able to motivate many general students to join the “robotics geeks”. I find that all students have something valuable to add to the team if they are just approached and guided appropriately and offered respect. I can connect with each student on some level, whether it be academics, sports, science, or just humor.
