Tutoring is fundamentally different than lecturing because one interacts with one students. Therefore a tutor must adopt a style that most effectively communicates with the student. It is important to understand why the student is having difficulty mastering the subject. Most often I use an interlocution with the student. Ask a lot of challenging questions at the student’s level of understanding. Be sure not to let them frustrate themselves trying to find an answer. Manage time well.
