I taught piano lessons, including individual and group theory, for 10 years, l980-1990. My studio contained about 40 students, who took individual lessons every week, and ability grouped theory games and lessons on Saturdays. From 1989-1999, I taught general music in Elementary Schools. From 1999-2004, I taught First Grade in a private classical school, and from 2004-2011,I taught Kindergarten and first Grade in Jakarta, Indonesia, in an international school.

I am currently a semi-retired land surveyor and former TCU instructor (in computer science). As a land surveyor, I use algebra and numerical trigonometry on a daily basis, and, as a result, have a strong working knowledge of the level of math that appears in most pre-algebra and algebra courses. However, at the same time, I understand that math concepts can sometimes be difficult for people, and have the patience to work through these difficulties, as well as ideas about how to present material so that it is more easily understood. I would be delighted to work with you and help you or your child develop mathematical skills. I will eventually obtain my PhD in Medical Physics so that I can teach the subjects I have a passion for at the college level. I do have experience teaching high school students as well. I have a straight forward approach to teaching. I get to the point and cater my teaching approach to the individual since not everyone learns the same way. My teaching is simple and easy to understand, no complicated terms unless the student is ready. I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I independently tutored in Physics while in my Junior and Senior year earning a Bachelors in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I have extensive Math skills and taught Calculus, all levels, at the San Antonio College for several years. It was then that I found out how much I enjoyed tutoring Calculus. I also have a Masters of Science degree awarded from the UT Health Science Center in Medical Health Physics.
