I have home schooled my son through the end of 12th grade and he was ready for college freshman classes at age 15. I believe that it is the teacher's job to discover the true learning style of their students and when we do it is like unlocking a treasure chest of gold, so to speak. I graduated with a degree in English, Social Science and Biology from the University of Exeter in England. I have 7 years of experience in the field of Education, first as a substitute teacher for grades K - 12, then tutoring students in English (Grammer, Literature, Reading & Writing); Biology and SAT preparation at an after school program in New Jersey. I feel that each student has their own individual style of learning and I will take that into consideration when tutoring your son/daughter. I know that not everyone learns the same way and that there is not a concrete form of teaching and that to be able to reach an individual student, the teacher must accomodate their teaching style to reach the student.
I taught Environmental Science to disadvantaged kids in McKenzie, TN while on summer break from college and then I taught young children about animals and their lifesytles at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I am currently working on a master's degree in secondary science.
