My teaching philosophy and style is to make sure the student comprehends the basics of any subject before starting any further or advance work. I find that in the sciences, fundamental knowledge of the basics is very important for the further advancement of really understanding and learning higher concepts. When I tutor students, I ask where they feel they need the most help and where they are doing well, to help them with their uncertainties and increase their confidence. Instead of just giving the students the answers, I will show them where to find the answers.
