As far as teaching goes, I am mostly here to help the person with the way they write their papers, organization of paragraphs, spelling, whether or not the writing makes sense to the reader, and whether or not the reading understands what is written. I believe in being honest about my critiques to the person's writing and being a fair judge all to help the student improve his or her skills so they can become not just good but great at what they are doing. This was challenging but probably one of my favorite jobs as a teacher. Because of the distance from home to work (about 1-1/2 hrs.), I applied at an urban school 20 minutes from my home. My first job there was managing the Young Parents Program. This was a program for high school girls who were pregnant or had already had a child.
