After graduating from Rhode Island College in 1976 with a B.A. in Secondary Education and major in Biology, I took a teaching job at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, MA. Here I taught classes in Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science for 5 years. I then returned to Rhode Island College where I earned a Master of Arts degree in Biology with specialization in Microbiology. During my graduate work I assisted in the laboratory sections of their General Biology and Microbiology courses. I enjoy helping other people learn, and I get a sense of satisfaction when they grasp new information. I have tutored students needing help with homework assignments or studying for an exam. I requested that they bring their notes and textbook so that I use them as a reference when teaching. I can either answer specific questions or walk through the material. I ask the student questions about the material to make sure they understand the information completely. If the student is having trouble I will patiently go through the materials again until they fully understand the information.
