Hi everyone! My name is Danielle Miyagishima and I've been tutoring math and science for pay for the last 2 years. I have done private tutoring for high school and college students. I have also been employed by NMSU's tutoring center. I have also served as a "BioCat" which is a biology catalyst. A biology catalyst is a type of teaching assistant that works with NMSU's biology department. I am experienced in the grading and writing of lab reports and other technical forms of communication. I got my first teaching experience as a lab instructor for undergraduate physics labs and fell in love with the profession. I love to work with children and help them to learn. I have the desire to instill in their hearts the desire to grow in knowledge and maturity. I graduated in 1999 from NMSU with a degree in Elem/Spec Education. While attending school, I worked in a group home for troubled teens and at a facility for adults with disabilities. But my desire to teach children led me to tutoring at a private non-profit school for K-12. I worked there two years before starting to work at a facility for troubled youth. I worked there for one term before they closed down, and then started working with treatment foster care children through Mesilla Valley Hospital, a facility for children and adults with mental disorders.
