I have worked in a school system for the past nine years and I enjoy working with students. I studied nutrition in college and have taken nutrition courses. I would like to further my talents by helping others learn new stratorgies and techniques that will futher their learning process. Depending on the age(s) of the clients, I like to focus on what will work best for them. I like to meet my clients at a library where we have the resources to use and or borrow. Informal for large groups as I wanted the students to see me as like them, but with enough capability to inspire them to listen. I learned early on you cannot make anybody learn anything. You must inspire them to want to learn. At the 1-on-1 setting (tutoring level), I work at a very detailed level with the particular student I have with me at the time. Each one is sufficiently different to warrant different teaching approaches to maximum effect and retention. During my Doctoral candidate years, I worked as both a engineering lecturer and laboratory instructor for 3 different engineering fields. The fields were circuit design, applied mathematics and practical laboratory equipment usage.
