A Little Bit About Me...

My strengths are with all children, they are my passion. I love inspiring and motivating students to learn. I try to actively engage students in learning by using a variety of activities, projects, and manipulatives. In addition I have been able to use reading strategies to help students achieve a successful year of learning. I am an open and friendly teacher, with a bit of a funny bone at times. What makes me a great teacher is that I have patience and the understanding to work with anyone. I explain things in a way that whomever I am tutoring can relate to and benefit from the most. I am very social and outgoing which I think is important in helping identifying a student's specific learning needs. I enjoy helping others and want to use my abilities in a positive way.
I recently graduated from NSU with a BS in Chemistry as well as minors in Biology and Math. I have very good writing skills not only because of writing lab reports but I worked for the university in the community relations office. I've been a teacher for 13 years. I've taught all subjects from 1st grade to 8th grade and high school algebra 1. I'm currently teaching middle school math at the 7th and 8th grade levels. I've been in my current position for five years.
