My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I believe my volunteer work with children and my advanced degree in psychology are advantageous for assisting individuals with ADD and ADHD.

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. During the summers of college I was trained in Project Read and organizational skills. I then tutored youth from grade school to high school in math and science from grade school math to algebra and geometry the same for science. I worked with the teachers to determine when assignments were due and worked on planning with the students to plan out how and when to work on projects to complete them on time. A Little Bit About Me...

I began working in the school setting in February, 2002. Initially I worked as a teacher's aide in the special education (K-5) classroom environment. Shortly after, I began to tutor after-school hours for one of the special needs students. The "parent network" took off and soon I was tutoring five students per week. In 2004, I returned to school for my masters/teacher credential program. Upon graduation, I worked for two years as a program director at a before-and-after school program and two years as a creative movement/dance instructor in the Vancouver School District.
