American History is one of my top subjects! I have a History major in secondary education and this is my favorite subject.

It is my intention to provide each student with a safe learning environment. Within this environment, individuals will be allowed the freedom to express their views, while respecting the rights of all others. I will maintain an eclectic view on teaching methods and philosophies, based on which approach best addresses the learning styles and specific needs of each individual student. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a deep passion for learning, and it's always my goal not only to help students learn skills but to find their inner motivation too. I currently work as a substitute teacher, and I appreciate the chance I have to see the best of what teachers and paraprofessionals are using in the classroom and how they help their students. I have much experience students of all ages with their homework and projects as a nanny, babysitter, and older sister of four. I was also a certified therapeutic riding instructor, so I taught individuals with disabilities to ride horses. I was a top student myself, and I have a B.A. in English with a minor in history. My experience in education has been wide and full of variety. I began working as a linguistics tutor for the university. I worked with several students over the course of the two years in which I worked for the department. I began my field work at Mt. Morris Junior High School performing my observations. I completed my student teaching at Lapeer West High School, before graduating with a BA in Secondary Education. There, I taught English 12, Mythology, and, perhaps most beneficial to my experience, Literacy Skills, where I was able to work with many students with diverse reading and age levels.
