I am currently a graduate student in Political Science at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. I have taught a public speaking course to undergraduate students at Purdue for the past year. I also have experience working with younger children and with special needs students. I have a B.A. in Political Science and Classical Studies from Drew University in Madison, NJ, and I worked for some time as a director and dramaturge in the New York/New Jersey area professional theatre community. I approach teaching as a challenge; as I know not every student learns the same way. I first start by finding a common ground; a level of knowledge if you will. Essentially I find what they know and where do they need help. From there I like to find out something the student has an interest in; thus allowing me to relate subjects to something they find interesting. I also like to constantly reinforce what the student has learned with questions and examples.
