Elementary Math is one of my top subjects! I have been working intervention for elementary students in math from kindergarten to 6th grade. I use a multi sensory approach explaining why math works. This works great for pattern thinkers.

ORTON-Gilingham multi sensory approach. Math without words until the concept is mastered. Using lots of manipulatives including video games, that teach concepts.
I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.

I have a love for learning and helping others learn. I am currently in college to become an Elementary School teacher and I have really emphasized on math. I took honors math classes all through high school and I have enjoyed being able to study math and help others understand as well. I also have a love for piano. I know that there are so many children that are just plain scared. They see so many children that have more then they do, and they come from all different situations, and backgrounds, that I think they feel doomed. I see so many children that I think really dont even receive the love they need at home. I think they need to feel loved and have their self esteem built.
