Dr. Griffith Garland studied engineering physics as an undergraduate at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, pioneering the program by being a member of the first class to graduate with that degree. She was twice a member of Who's Who Among American College and University Students and graduated summa cum laude. She put herself through college by tutoring students, working as a teaching assistant, and becoming the training manager at the University's computer lab. I do have a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Iowa in 2005 and a First Class BSc degree in chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. As a recent CofC graduate attaining my Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, I have a vast knowledge of Biology and Chemistry courses. I also attained minors in Chemistry and Psychology. In high school I completed Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Biology, English, and Calculus and placed out of 21 college credit hours. With this experience, I gained knowledge about the arrangment and expectations of these classes and examinations. During High School, I tutored Middle School aged children in all subjects in an after-school program. Currently, I work as a Patient Care Technician at the MUSC's Children's Hospital. I graduated with a 4-year degree in Mech. Eng. in 1997. I was very successful for the next 12 years, in various positions. In 2009, I changed to the IT field. As an engineer and thereafter, I mentored many friends, colleagues, and friends of friends with computers. I am familiar with MS Windows, but I plan to learn about MAC PCs soon.
