Currently I run the Spanish Club at Gulf Coast Charter Academy since they opened two years ago for kinder to middle students. I teach individual or small group language classes only for children. I am originally from Venezuela. As a Spanish native speaker, I have emphasized the importance of early second language immersion for young children. Also, learning Spanish from a native speaking teacher is the ideal way to learn the language with appropriate pronunciation and provide the opportunity to learn a different culture as well. I have been a high school Spanish teacher for the past two and a half years here in Florida. Before that I taught English as a Foreign language to adolescents and adults at a language school in Mexico and I tutored children at an orphanage as well. I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates.
