A Little Bit About Me...

Born and educated in Great Britain. Graduated Rickmansworth School with Certificates of education in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, English Language and English Literature. Attended Watford College and obtained the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. After emigrating to the United States and serving 4 years in the US Air Force I pursued a career in IBM Mainframe Programming. For 4 years I taught Business Programming at Boulder Vocational/Technical College as well as conducting many in-house training sessions at Storage Tek. Recently I have conducted in-house and 1 on 1 computer and software training sessions for a local not-for-profit.

Most recently, I was a high school math teacher for 3 years specializing in PreAlgebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Astronomy. I taught regular, advanced, and special education classes. I strongly believe that students grow and excel when they are given challenges that are just beyond their current level of understanding. I was a special education paraprofessional for six years at the elementary and high school level. As a graduate of the University of Colorado with Degrees in a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Civil Engineering, I was very much driven to a high level of excellence in education and further learning. Additionally, I spent twenty years in the USMC, achieving the rank of Major, which gave me much self esteem in professionalism. I held several positions in the Military including being a Fixed Wing Pilot, Battalion Administrative Officer (Adjutant) and Intelligence Analysis Officer with a Reserve Unit in Denver for over 6 years.
