I love tutoring because it gives me the ablility to individualize each students program so it fits their learning style. If a students doesn't understand a concept when I explain it, I use other ways (other explanations and manipulatives) to help the student understand. I am patient and understand each student is unique and their program should be unique to them.
I graduated from Ball State University with a major in Elementary Education. I love working with the younger students in a classroom setting but realized I missed working with older students. I started tutoring at Sylvan at the high school level in math. After a year I became the Assistant Director of Education and comtinued to tutor in the evenings. This allowed me to create programs specific to each student. I tutored all subjects but enjoy working with high school algebra and geometry students the most.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed working with children and knew I would want a career working with kids to help enhance their futures. While still in high school, I worked after-school tutoring elementary age students in a wide variety of subjects. After working with that tutoring program for some months I filled in the position of head tutor and was in charge of assigning students to tutors and overseeing the overall running of the after-school program.
