During my time in college, I studied both Fine Art Painting and Art Education. Getting my BFA in Painting allowed me to study many disciplines of art while refining my painting techniques. At the same time, I earned my degree in Art Education and have an Indiana Teacher's License to teach visual art to all grades. I gained a lot of experience teaching, including six weeks each teaching 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th grades, and a semester of student teaching high school students. I love teaching students of all ages and I recognize that most students do not get the help they need during the school day, which is why it is important for them to get the help they need outside of class. Each student learns differently and it is important for me to figure out a way that works best for him or her so that I can instill the techniques that will help them throughout their entire educational career. I find that many students get frustrated when they don’t understand and if I take the time to help them at their own pace in a teaching style that works best for them school becomes less stressful.
