Sculpting is one of my top subjects! I have been sculpting as a hobby for the past 12 years. I have experience in creating full size busts of various characters including the alien "Predator". My medium of choice is modeling clay "Chavant NSP Medium" although I have worked with other various clays. I have experience in life casting, mold making, prosthetic creation, and prop making. I am currently about to finish a T-Rex model inspired by Stan Winston's work in jurassic park, which I will be mass producing and selling as a paint it your self model in addition to creating a "Kickstarter" to help acquire funding. I am self taught and believe I can contribute a great deal not only in your sculpting ability but also your ability to continue learning and self teach.

I am a highly motivated individual that enjoys working with other. While having a solid education in Finance & Accounting I also pride my self in my artistic and creative abilities. My grandfather had me using power tools to build projects even in elementary school and I know that starting young and observing my grandpa has had a significant influence on my ability to teach my self and create essentially anything I set my mind to. I can assure you that my experience in sculpting will contribute greatly to your artistic ability and my well rounded knowledge will assist in nearly any project you would like to take on.
I don't have much teaching experience but I will adjust my teaching style to each individual student's interests and needs.

I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others to learn. I don't believe in "I can't do it" or "I can't learn". I believe that anyone can learn anything as long as they're willing to learn and put an effort to do so. What is different is that some people have more ability than other to learn certain tasks, but eventually, everyone can learn. It is all a matter of adapting oneself to the student's need and ability to learn. My goal is to make the student learn what they set up their mind to learn in the first place, and help them improve their condition. It is very rewarding to see that you have made a difference in their lives.
Having parents that place a great emphasis in achieving higher education, I graduated from high school with the age of 15 years old and was accepted in National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, for the degree in Life Science Biology. While studying in T ... read more

My comments on tutoring Sculpting : I've worked with quite a few different materials and could easily teach you how to hone your skills in from beginner to novice levels. No firing materials unless you have access to a kiln.

Hands on and detailed lecture. I talk fast, but I teach you to work fast as well. The hardest part of my lesson will be knowing when to put it down and call something finished. I love to laugh, be loud and have a great time. It's a joy to teach and I make sure it's a joy to learn as well.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Art Institute in 2004 with top honors and a nomination for Best Demo Reel. I taught for a semester in 2004 at the Institute and went on to teach privately the the next two years (tutor). I became a photoshop trainer at work and an Art Director of a million dollar graphic design firm by 2007. I have flown to Cape Town in South Africa and Canberra in Australia to teach crash course photoshop seminars- up to 8 people with no computer experience at all. I have lead a team of 15 in photo editing for a professional studio and still teach privately today.

I have many years of elementary reading tutoring experience. This started at a young age, as my mother was an elementary public school remedial reading teacher. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a private school, which left me with certain vacation times differing. Rather than getting a sitter and have me stay home my mother took me to her school with her to have me assist and help out with the students and their reading difficulties. This in turn at a young age made me enjoy helping others to learn. I see daily how important it is that they grasp these concepts of reading and comprehension as soon as possible because if not it can interfere with every other aspect of their education as well as their self esteem.
My teaching style involves patience and finding out what exactly the student is not grasping, and figuring out how each individual learns. Each person respo ... read more

As a teacher, I utilize many teaching styles as one style is not universal or may not fit all teachers. Anchored Instruction learning allows students to experience real world dilemmas while using critical thinking to problem solve their situation. Another teaching style and my favorite is Cooperative Learning which involves students in collaborative or team-based tasks such as group problem solving, and paper writing, projects. Cooperative learning is relevant for any discipline. C L is valuable for promoting collaborative effort, reasoning and critical thinking among our students.
As a bilingual professional, I am confident in my ability in teaching. As my experience will demonstrate, I have a passion to educate young minds and help them become well-rounded, responsible, and successful individuals. Very hands on type of person. I am the type of person that needs visual reminders to get my work done. I know that everyone learns in different capacities so I try to incorporate that into my teaching style. I work on identifying the students learning style and then we go from there.
I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. I have created a study group club with students that need study skills, organizational skills or assistance getting their work done! I have been employed as a substitute teacher and mental health counselor in the past. I enjoy working with students because a lot of their stress is due to frustration of not knowing a concept. If you work with the students on their frustration you begin to see improvement in their grades!

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy teaching children art because it gives them a whole new means of communicating with others and exploring their world. While it is very important for children to learn the elements and principals of design, it is equally important for children to learn in a constructive, uplifting environment where their creativity and passion will thrive. Often, so much emphasis is put on the quality of the finished product that children are never able to enjoy the process of art making and therefore, their innate creativity and inspiration is stifled before it can thrive. I believe in letting children’s imaginations run wild and then giving them the skills and knowledge to make their dreams a cohesive reality.
