I hold daily "workshops" in my classroom helping students with study skills and help with homework or unclear assignmens. I have a calm, loving environment in my classroom. I expect the best from my students and they never let me down. I play classical music during their work time and allow them to work in partners, groups, and individually daily. I also hold what I call "workshops" for students who need that extra help with the lesson I just taught. Young children learn best through things that have meaning to them. For example, I once tutored a child that had difficulty learning his multiplication tables, but was an avid NASCAR fan.
