A Little Bit About Me...

The most important thing about my teaching style is that I believe every child can achieve academic excellence and can be interested in learning. I believe that it is up to me, as a teacher or a tutor, to engage the student(s). A huge part of this is being very transparent about where the student starts, what our goals are for where they are going, and how they are doing along the way. I love working with students to figure out what gets them excited and how they learn best so I can incorporate these strategies into my teaching. My teaching style is differentiated teaching, as this combines many different learning styles and is able to reach most, if not all studens. I teach using many different hands-on activities, as I believe that it teaches real-world applications. I believe in texts/paper assignements but always try to back up the assignment with some type of real-world experience/scenario,; whether it be having the student give a speech, act out a script or physically demonstrate a concept or a combination of all of the above.
