I have recently been introduced to the teaching field by substituting elementary students at the local school. Im a social-able person which helps me interact with the students better. Students feel comfortable with me because they think that I'm a outgoing person easy to relate to. I have patience with the students because I go at a pace that suits the students needs therefore it makes the students comfortable to learn. If they have a question I show them exactly how to accomplish tasks. I believe patience is a virtue to having success in the learning process of a student.

As I think of my life without teaching, I cannot imagine what else I would be doing. I believe that children learn in a variety of ways. Some through listening, some through reading or watching, and some through doing. My goal is to find the way that works for each child and use that method to help them on their way to reaching their full potential.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming within 3 1/2 years and student taught in first grade. Since then, I have been teaching in several preschool programs and spent part of one year as a long term substitute for a Title 1 program. This position enabled me to spend extra time and gain experience in the Guided Reading program.
