Confidence creates an interest in learning

I have taught students ranging fro pre-school to 12th grade and also tutored at the unversity level. I feel most confident with students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade and at the college level or older. My main strengths are an ability to adapt to students with special needs and recognize that a lack of interest or focus is often the result of a lack of confidence. Teaching mainly K-8 on a consistent schedule, I have learned that some students need one-on-one teaching. Being the third teacher in Head Start, I had time to work with individual students. All children were very well prepared for kindergarten. The older children, including High School and Middle School, I would walk around the room and aide them when they were confused.
