Elementary Phonics is one of my top subjects!

I have worked at Mingo Valley Christian School since 2010 in a variety of capacities: substitute teacher, teacher's aide, AIM tutor. I work mainly with lower elementary students on phonics and beginning reading, but I also have experience in teaching upper elementary reading and math. I am also certified to teach English as a foreign language and have completed practicums in ESL classrooms at Jenks East Elementary (Fall 2010), Tulsa Community College (Fall 2010), & La Casa de Panchita (Fall 2008). My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : The past 25 years I have beenn teaching Reading, Language and Arts in the Oklahoma Public School System. I have a Reading Specialist Certificate and have taught small group interventions (5-6 students) which involved reinforcement with phonics skills: synonyms, antonyms, homophones, homonyms, pronunciation of letter sounds, identification of vowels,, consonants, vowel pals, and have worked a lot with English as a Second Language Students to help them learn the English language.
