My comments on tutoring GED : This is my specialty. I have MANY Books, websites, printouts, etc. to help. I have worked with a dozen students from high school to 60 years old. I can give references. I can help those who have taken the many prep classes offered at high schools and learning centers, yet still failed to pass the test.

I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. In the work world, two have been highly praised for their writing skills. After homeschooling, I began tutoring. I have over 5 years experience and have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults preparing for exams such as the GED. I would describe my teaching style as interactive. I use some lecture usually accompanied with power points, but generally those power points include practice reviews with the students. I use games to encourage and reinforce learning, as well as practice tests and group work. Most of my students don't learn well with a straight lecture format so I try to mix it up.

I love teaching. I especially love the reaction I get when a student understands a difficult concept they have been struggling with. To help struggling students, we break down difficult concepts into smaller pieces and help them translate difficult scientific jargon and other vocabulary into "regular English". A Little Bit About Me...

As a college student, I wanted to help other struggling students as well as polish my own skills. I decided that tutoring students would be a great job to earn money and achieve some personal goals. In addition, I played college sports so my students were other athletes. I have tutored students in math, accounting, finance, English, and various other business classes.
My teaching style is very hands on. I like to work the problems out with the students and show them how to do each step. I love questions and I love for the student to fully understand.
