I am a recent graduate of Fordham University, where I majored in Film Studies and minored in Visual Arts. During my time there I honed my skills in painting, graphic design, filmmaking and writing (both creative and academic). Recently I worked with the Tribeca Film Institute on the Tribeca Teaches program, coordinating the in class production of seven short documentaries made by middle and high school students in the South Bronx and Brooklyn that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. I understand the importance of getting to know students on an individual basis, as everyone will learn in a different way. With art specifically, I believe it's important to be helpful and supportive while encouraging new ideas and new techniques. In teaching art, I believe one should work hands-on with the student and the chosen materials, but still introduce theories and ideas about the choices being made to give further meaning to the work. I have graduated from San Antonio College with Honors (3.85), received an Honors List during 2009 as well. I am a faster learner, and enjoyed the education that I have received, too several business and computer courses while in college.
