This is my first year working in a school. I have previous practicum experience working at a high school. At that school I sat in on an ASL class. I learned many teaching techniques, as well as interpreting for a deaf student multiple times. I currently work at St. Rita School for the Deaf and use sign language every day. I work in the LOFT program. I am constantly using sign language with students, as well as with staff.

As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I began teaching them in the first grade and have continued up to, and including, the present time. My son is now a high school freshman and my daughter is in the eighth grade. During this time I helped start a homeschool cooperative. We wanted to continue homeschooling our children, but we also wanted to provide them with more choices taught by someone experienced, or having an expertise in an area.
