I have the natural ability to draw since childhood and keep with it for the sake of enjoyment. I take after the fantasy art style of my favorites (e.g.) Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, John Bama, and Simon Bizley. Drawing has been a private joy in my life. I have not used such a talent to support myself financially nor have I continued my education in drawing (i.e.) computer graphics,etc. etc. I believe such talent is first to be used for personal enjoyment before marketability. Drawing is to be used for the revelation of one's own vision of the world and people and through imagination beyond either. Therefore, the only experience I have is personal. After being honorably discharged from the Navy I did take an Art Class at the local community college (Del Mar, Corpus Christi, Tx.). I have been drawing since childhood and have taught drawing as well as many other aspects of art. Graphite, pen & ink, pastel,charcoal, colored pencil and marker are my most frequently used mediums. Studied Studio Art at the University of Arizona. I am a professional artist with works sold and shows in Galveston, Texas. I have a hands-on approach to teaching. It is my desire to facilitate a student's own ability to self-teach, to solve and understand new problems as they occur. This type of teaching will not only improve whatever English and reading skills needing improvement, but will also translate into all other aspects of their education and life. I have taught at both the middle and high school level in the subject of English. Within that broad subject I have taught World Literature, British Literature, Creative Writing, Rhetoric, Composition and more.
