Through my life I have excelled in the subject of music. I am fortunate enough to have studied with great private instructors and professors, and am seasoned going on 5 years of teaching in the public school setting. As a high school instructor, I have 5 Choral ensembles in addition to my management of the Choral Department and courses of piano and American Contemporary Music. In previous years teaching, I have worked with grades 4-12 including general music curriculum, choral instruction and Marching Band. I am proficient with music theory, and excel in teaching aural skills to prep for the AP Music Theory exam. I have been performing since i was a child. Attended Julliard school of music, City colege of NY. Published two albums of my own and has recorded with a host of astist as a sideman. I am a multi-instrumentalist playing piano,bass(electric and acoustic), all percussions,composer and arranger. I have earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in music performance
I love teaching students of all ages. It is very satisfying to see their eyes light up when they realize they got it. One method i use is to teach the the music that they love and apply the theory and technique to it, and gradually introduce them to more challenging works. I can improvise at a moments notice to help get the lesson across, even if it means focusing on one task at a time. My goal is to make the learning experience as pleasant as possible.

I thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students so that we can start a dialogue of questions and suggestions that is beneficial to the student's understanding of the subject matter. I believe in order to be a strong writer, one must increase their literacy by reading literature of substance, while also striving to write whenever possible and in any capacity. It is important to develop an appreciation for the art of good writing, and I can only hope that my own enthusiasm for composition will infect my students with the same sort of love for creative and analytical writing. In general, my teaching style is organic to better fit an individual student's needs.
