I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. I am currently working as the Math Specialist at a K-8th school where I provide assistance to students who need extra help or are performing below grade level. I also work with students in 8th grade teaching Algebra to those who have the ability to learn at a faster pace than the class as a whole.
I first determine the student's level in each subject, and tutor accordingly. In High School I discovered that not only was I skilled in math and science, but that I was effective in tutoring other students in these subjects. I started professionally tutoring students younger than me when I was a junior and continued until I graduated college.
