Learning is a journey. I have a map but you have the wheels

As a lifelong learner I understand the importance of an effective teacher. I have been teaching and assisting college level classes for 2 years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. During this time I have taught 6 classes consisting of introductory microbiology, microbial genetics and general biology. This experience has allowed me to develop my own teaching style and led to a greater understanding of both sides of the teacher-student dynamic.
I believe the best way to learn is to ask questions. The best thought process begins with asking the right questions. Through my experience I had the opportunity to teach reading at a very fundamental level to adults. I also taught math and English to inmate students studying for their GED. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to teach English as a secondary language to non- English speaking students. At the outset of the personal computer revolution I sold and supported Tandy computers. As part of the support function I instructed clients in the use of their computers. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties. I´ve been teaching since 10 years ago. I´ve been teaching from 1st grade to 12th grade. I was teaching stimulation with music at a special school for kids with disabilities, I was there 5 years, it was in Mexico. I worked with ADD, Autism, Asperger's, Dyslexia, and others. And my other experience was with normal kids teaching music.

I have ten years of experience working with youth. My involvement began in 1997 as a volunteer youth leader at a local high school. After a year I worked three summers as a youth counselor and program director at a youth camp. I received my B.S. in Mathematics in 2001 and have been teaching since.
