My comments on tutoring Grammar : - Graduated Magna Cum Laude in English with Departmental Honors and the departmental award for excellence in English from Shreveport College of Louisiana - Have been published and won awards for papers - Have experience teaching English at the university level, working in Hong Kong for a year.

I prefer one-on-one work with the students that stresses not simple correction or copy editing but legitimate comprehension on the part of my charges. My teaching style is comprehensive and rigorous and requires serious involvement and passion on the student's part. I do not hand-hold and I do not coddle but I am not uncaring: students learn best from experience, and that's something I can provide.
I have worked in a number of positions that have required me to teach and train, whether that be as an instructor at a local radio station who was responsible for preparing DJs to broadcast or a tutor in Hong Kong who was responsible for developing the English skills of a number of non-native speakers at all levels. My experience is backed up by my certification to teach English as a second language and a track record as somebody who writes at a professional level.

I was a teacher of English for 30 years at three high schools in The Netherlands, my last job being a teacher/tutor at "Bisschopelijk College" (Episcopal College)in Weert Holland from 1980 to September 2005. I then emigrated to Texas and married an American in 2006. I taught students ranging between the age of 11 and 19 years of age. I have the capability to not only understand but fluently express any material. have done extensive research into tutoring and student-teacher bonds, an aspect I feel is important. I present the fact that the session is a time to learn yet enjoy. I always use my love for knowledge to improve the child's interest in learning - enhancing motivation.
