My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : I took my Pre-Calculus and Survey of Calculus courses at the Ohio State University before getting into Architecture and performed very well.

Volunteered to provide High School students with after school lessons in Geometry,Algebra, Functions, Pre Calculus. Created and managed a classroom environment in a locally deprived community. Responsible for classroom schedules, lesson plans and study material. Evaluate students to determine their strengths and weaknesses.

I would describe my teaching style as learning by doing and not learning by lecture. I like the structure and logic of Math. I have always enjoyed helping students grasp concepts that can be utilized in the sciences.
I have taught math for thirty five (35) years at Lexington high school. I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, enriched (honors) Algebra 2, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Pre calculus and Senor Math (Trig and Analytical Geometry) and Geometry. A Little Bit About Me...

In my year of graduate school I accepted a position as a teaching assistant. It was my first opportunity to stand in front of a class. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to teach and also help people in subject areas of which you have great expertise and interest. More recently, I have had vast experience working with middle-school students and am currently doing in-home tutoring. I continue to enjoy working with all types of students, especially in mathematics.
In teaching, one must realize that students learn at different rates of speed. Consequently, you need to find a pace at which the student feels comfortable. As most of my experience and interest is in mathematics, I always want to see a student be able to solve problems on their own. It's a great feeling when a student overcomes a hurdle and they realize that they can get the right answer.
