Friendly tutor with over five years of experience working with children and adults of all ages. I am a an active learner and listener, so students and I are able to build relationships quickly and can focus on making learning engaging. Prior to working with any student, I always review the subject matter and prepare well in advance to tailor the lesson to the student's individual learning style. I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

I have volunteered at Crosswell Elementary school in 205, and in 2008. I worked with first, second and third grade children. I helped with reading, language arts, spelling, and test preparation. I am available to help with math as well. I also home school my two children as well, have been for three years.
I prefer one on one teaching, so the child can have my undivided attention. I believe they will learn better that way.

Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects!

Throughout my years of education I have helped my fellow students with many different projects. I have always been in all honors classes and I am a hard worker. I have lots of patience so if you don't get it the first time ITS OK. I have won first in state for engineering and math competitions and then proceeded to nationals. I have a love of working with especially young children. I feel that children want to learn. I believe that children will learn through immersion in music and mass media. I also would teach a child to learn the step by step basics of mathematics and use each example in a realistic setting.
