I graduated with a 3.6 cumulative GPA in December 2013 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a dual Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Math Education. I spent a semester student teaching at Parkway North High School where I observed and then taught Algebra I, College Prep Math, and Honors Pre-Calculus. I have my Missouri Teaching Certification to teach grades 5-12 in mathematics. During college I spent three semesters tutoring college students in mathematics courses such as College Algebra and Intermediate Algebra.

I am very passionate about educating others and have used my two Education degrees (Bachelor’s and Master’s) to work with students of all levels, especially in math. My teaching style is to make learning fun. I like to bring materials to the lesson that match a student's interest and still build necessary skills. My middle school students became experts at poetry and grammar with daily competitions. Practice is imperative to learning, is my theory, and the key to the success I've had with students. After receiving my BS I taught high school English for nine years in Vermont and Massachusetts. I earned my MED in 1985 and served as an administrator at both the high school and elementary school levels. I've taught emotionally disturbed children and middle school ESL students in Santa Fe. Most recently I have been tutoring elementary students in language arts and math. For the past five years I've also tutored language arts and math to 1st grade through middle school students after school.
