Experience Summary
After receiving my BS I taught high school English for nine years in Vermont and Massachusetts. I earned my MED in 1985 and served as an administrator at both the high school and elementary school levels. I've taught emotionally disturbed children and middle school ESL students in Santa Fe. Most recently I have been tutoring elementary students in language arts and math. For the past five years I've also tutored language arts and math to 1st grade through middle school students after school.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to make learning fun. I like to bring materials to the lesson that match a student's interest and still build necessary skills. My middle school students became experts at poetry and grammar with daily competitions. Practice is imperative to learning, is my theory, and the key to the success I've had with students.
