Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! I am a teacher for the Deaf for sevral years in the East and moved here 7 years ago and I am teaching at school for the Deaf.

I started my teaching experience when I got a job as a subsitute teacher at school for the Deaf in Ontario, Canada. I loved it so much and I went to university to get my degree in Criminology and Sociology and got masters in Deaf Education and Recreation. I used to be a subsitute teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. and got a job as a teacher at Maryland School for the Deaf. I moved here 7 years ago and work here at California School for the Deaf as a teacher. ASL Teaching experience: I taught ASL at McDaniel College for a semester. I started to teach ASL at Ohlone College (high school course) for 3 years and Stanford University for a year, and College of San Mateo. ASL I and II. Also, I have been doing a lot of tutor sessions for individuals who are taking ASL III or higher and Interpreter Preparation Program.

I have had 22 years total of tutoring experience, worked for six different supplemental educational services tutoring providers, worked for three different online tutoring companies, and have eleven years of experience as an ESL Teacher. I started my studies at Gallaudet University, my side job was a sub teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf and Kendall Demonistration Education School for couple of years. My belief is based upon the idea that all children are different and consequently, they learn differently. I have been taught how to approach those of ESL backgrounds, a multitude of handicaps, and learning disabilities, just to name a few. For instance, every once in a while, a child will take too long to copy notes off of the board or doesn't understand directions that well. For istances like this, I write down notes and tape them to their desks, provide additional coaching and prompts, or even modify assignments.
