A Little Bit About Me...

I am a high school senior and I have received straight-A's every year. I have taken math classes up to the multivariable calculus level and have scored in the top percentiles on every standardized math test I have taken. I have also done very well in science, particularly in biology where I have received A's in two college level biology courses, scored an 800 (a perfect score) on the Biology SAT II, and a 5 (a perfect score) on the AP Biology exam. I am currently working on my Masters in German Studies, as well as getting my teaching license. I have plans to go through the TEFL program to earn certification in teaching English as a Foreign language. I have been studying and teaching German/ESL since high school. I also lived abroad in Russia for sometime, and am continuing to learn Russian on my own. I can also teach the basics of the Russian language.
I like to speak, slowly and thoroughly, in the language I'm tutoring in. For example, I would conduct most lessons in German, but at a slow and comprehensive pace, so that students are able to "pick up" on the German language as if it were second nature. If there is an issue with miscommunication, I switch to English, and explain the concept again in German.
