Success with confidence is my goal.

I have raised a mentally disabled child and assisted in her education. I have home-schooled three children for brief periods to assess their abilities when the schools graded them lower than their abilities. I discovered one is a genius (MENSA material) with a writing problem, another has a photographic mind, the third could speed read naturally. I spent time building their confidence that they had lost in the classroom. They were caught up to their current grade at the time and advanced 2 of them ahead a year in one year.
Will depend on what works well with the child. I relate to children and parents quite well. If I'm not a good fit and find I'm not helping, I will inform you.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always known I have wanted to be a teacher. I do my best to adjust what I am teaching to what my students actually have passion for. I believe that not all students learn the same and that is some thing we need to constantly be adjusting for. As educators we need to work with the things students already know to really help them to succeed.
I am a Math Major at the University of Northern Colorado. I am working on my Secondary Education Licensure in the PTEP (Professional Teacher Education Program) as well. I taught grammar to small groups, read one-on-one with third graders and assisted junior high school students with their homework assignments. Though my degree is in fine art, I began my undergraduate career as an English major. In high school I took both AP English exams and I went on an honors trip to England to study British literature.
