I recently graduated college with a BA in Human Biology, and I am currently in the transition between undergraduate school and medical school. I believe that students truly understand ideas and processes when they discover them independently; rote memorization does not instill thinking skills. To be a well-rounded academic, students must learn to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to work through problems and issues based on broad concepts and rules. Pupils must learn and memorize certain rules and concepts as a matter of course, but it is the ability to take these ideas and apply them to many topics, often with help and guidance, that makes a true critical thinker. With a bachelor degree in biology and a follow up minor in chemistry i am well versed in both the life and physical sciences. I am broadfield science certified through the state of Montana which enables me to teach any science course 5-12. After graduation I decided never to stop studying Law, the Brazilian legal system, different legal systems around the world and international law, both public and private. I became a specialist in tax law, a master in jurisprudence and a PhD in international law. Becoming a professor was only natural and my teasing career began in 1992 or 1993. As a child I learned to speak English and French as well as Portuguese. After that I learned other foreign languages. I am now living in the US and would like to teach again. I believe in education and don't understand why people don't invest more time and resources in education. Educated human beings not only look different but they are different from within.
