A Little Bit About Me...

I am very easy to communicate with and I am very outgoing. I firmly believe that anyone can make music if they understand that it requires some practice and some desire to learn. I love seeing a child's face light up when they learn how to play a piece of music or make a sound on an instrument; it is a phenomenal feeling. I felt that I was cheated out of my music education so I try to make it my goal to make sure I do not do the same to other young people.
Upon earning my International Baccalaureate diploma in high school, I immediately decided teaching music was what I wanted to do. I attended the University of South Carolina and performed in many professional music ensembles including: USC Orchestra, USC Wind Ensemble, USC Symphonic Band, USC Percussion Ensemble, Palmetto Pans and I also performed and a recorded a full length album with a band that was voted best in Columbia, ... read more

I don't try to teach beyond my ability, but I do bring out the drive in students to succeed. I try to make learning fun and I am creative in my efforts. I look at teachig as something I am good at and feel it is a privalidge for me to give back the knowledge I have to anyone who is hungry for it.
