I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. I've tutored a few younger kids in various subjects in my high school years, as well as occasionally teaching Taekwondo classes.
My teaching style is flexible, tailored to the specific needs of the student in question. Everybody learns differently and at different paces!

My comments on tutoring Vocals : I have been a vocal coach since the 1990's and have helped students get ready to star in their HS musicals, do a great job with an audition for a special group, get ready to sing in a recital, sing a solo for a Christmas program, and just get their voices properly trained through popular, religious, movie, musical, jazz standards, folk and country and even Italian arias. I use excellent methods not known to all and have had excellent success at voice training.

*Any child can learn. Find out what the gems are in each child and help to polish them. I like to work with private students. Reach the child where he is. Know their personality. Make them comfortable. Be punctual, be happy. Be consistent. Be open to new ideas without lowering your standards. Be about excellence. Help each child reach his/her potential in a POSITIVE and NURTURING way.

My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. In two weeks of many meetings, she was able to pass her final exam. No matter what grade I was in, I always enjoyed going down to the ESE room and helping the special kids. I did what ever I could to help.

Teaching one-on-one is my forte. I can establish rapport quickly then ascertain what and how a person wants to learn in a time-efficient and respectful way. My approach is cordial give-and-take, with abundant humor and fun. It is important to have reperetoire of behaviors as an educator, clinician, parent and citizen. Being aware of my compassion to help children succeed, earned my PA teaching certification after graduating high school. During college I received special recognition for volunteer services affiliated with tutoring at a "homework clinic" located inner city. All my life I have worked/volunteered assisting children in some capacity or another It simply is part of who I am.
