A Little Bit About Me...

From my tutoring experiences last year, my teaching style would best be described as very proactive. Many of the students were extremely frustrated by the concepts that they did not understand. This created an apathetic attitude towards the subject. Due to the lack of interest that I observed, I decided to go through problem by problem with the students. I talked them through each problem, and asked the students questions, but required them to calculate the answer. As we practiced and practiced, the students began to use the techniques that I taught them to calculate the answers on their own.
I am a second year UW Madison student pursuing a math degree. I have completed Calculus 1, Calculus 222, Calculus 234, Calculus 3 based engineering statistics, and Actuarial Science (a class designed to prepare actuarial students for the P exam). I am currently a part-time Anatomy instructor at both NWTC and UWGB where I have taught since the Fall of 2004. I have taught several types of Anatomy & Health Science classes over the past six years. I also actively work part-time in the healthcare field as a chiropractor where I own and operate my own clinic in Green Bay. I have an extensive educational and medical background in anatomy/physiology, biology, chemistry, medical terminology, pharmacology, and radiology that I feel allows me to be an informative, well-rounded tutor.
